Launch of campaign to elect new leaders to Canadian Labour Congress Executive - News Conference on Tuesday, March 30, 11 a.m. Eastern Time

Labour Forward will launch its campaign to elect new, radical and dynamic leaders to the top positions in the Canadian Labour Congress on Tuesday, March 30 at 11 a.m. Eastern Time at a News Conference / Town Hall.

Meet and pose questions to the candidates: Julius Arscott for President, Jennie Esnard for Executive Vice-President, and Sandra Griffith-Bonaparte for Executive Vice-President of the CLC.

Julius Arscott is a member of the Executive Board of the Ontario Public Service Employees’ Union (OPSEU).  Jennie Esnard is a Regional Director of the Professional Institute of the Public Service-Canada (PIPSC).  Sandra Griffith-Bonaparte is President of Local 70607 of the Union of National Defence Employees, a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada.

Labour Forward is sponsored by the Workers’ Action Movement.  WAM stands for mass job action against concessions bargaining, two-tier wages, and employer attacks on workers’ pensions.  WAM demands paid sick leave for all workers, and vigorously opposes racism, sexism, and homophobia.  It strives for greater democracy, transparency and accountability in the unions.  WAM says fight for a Workers’ Agenda in the NDP, give no support to the Liberal Party, organize the unorganized, and demonstrate solidarity with Indigenous and anti-imperialist struggles worldwide.
